Avju Solutions at Eurosatory in Paris

From the power grid to the battlefield, and now to new continents

Avju Solutions AS has wrapped up an intense week in Paris, marking a major milestone in the NATO DIANA program and the start of a new phase of international expansion. The company’s participation in Eurosatory, the world’s largest defence and security exhibition, brought together a packed schedule of pitches, high-level meetings, and strategic conversations with stakeholders from across the globe.

Avju Solutions used the opportunity to present its progress to an international audience, delivering a short-format pitch on what it has achieved during six months in the NATO DIANA accelerator, how far the technology and business have matured, and where support is still needed, particularly around continued funding and capital.

«This week showed us, very concretely, how relevant our technology is across sectors we hadn’t fully explored before,» says Magnus Haugen, CMO at Avju Solutions. «We came to talk about power grids, and left with serious conversations about aviation and defence.»

Strong interest across sectors

One of the clearest takeaways from Paris was the breadth of interest in Avju’s technology. While the company’s core business remains centered on monitoring and protecting power infrastructure, conversations repeatedly extended into other domains, including aviation safety and military applications.

Among the most concrete examples was a meeting with a Turkish aviation company that has experienced helicopter collisions with power lines, and is now looking for early-warning systems to prevent similar incidents. For Avju, this is a natural extension of its core capability into flight safety.

«It’s a strong validation of what we’ve built,» Haugen notes. «A system designed to protect the grid can also help protect people in the air above it. That’s exactly the dual-use relevance NATO DIANA has pushed us to explore.»

Building a bridge into the Canadian market

Among the most significant outcomes from Paris was a series of meetings with Montréal International, opening a dialogue on how Avju can establish a foothold in the Canadian market, which has increasingly opened its doors to the European defence and security industry.

As a direct follow-up, Avju Solutions will carry out a testing and validation phase in Canada this autumn, in partnership with ICON, a NATO-affiliated test centre specializing in electronics testing under demanding conditions, including hostile climates and challenging operational environments. This is a natural fit for technology already proven in the Arctic.

The end of phase one, and a path to phase two

The week in Paris also marked the formal conclusion of the first part of the NATO DIANA program. Avju Solutions has been pre-approved to apply for phase two, recognizing the progress made since joining the program.

«We’ve come a long way since our first sessions in Munich,» Haugen reflects. «What started as theory and relationship-building has turned into real commercial leads, a clear international testing plan, and validated interest from new markets. That’s exactly what this program is meant to deliver.»

Nurturing the network, expanding the map

Looking ahead, Avju Solutions will focus on cultivating the relationships and leads generated in Paris, while maintaining close contact with its NATO DIANA cohort and mentors. The Canadian test and validation phase this autumn will be a central priority, alongside continued dialogue with the Turkish aviation contact and other leads from the week.

«NATO DIANA has given us something money can’t easily buy. We have gained access to a credible network and an arena where the right people take dual-use innovation seriously,» says Magnus Haugen. «Paris confirmed that our technology has relevance far beyond where we started. Now it’s about following through.»
